I cleaned the inside of the mag very well and found it loaded almost full with less effort than before. I also took a fine file and fine grit sandpaper and polished the follower in the direction of its travel when its inside the mag. My fix was I took a long wide file and gently smoothed the insides of the mags, removing what appears to be parkerizing over spray, and polished the insides as best as I could.
